Global mark warren jacques

MARK WARREN JACQUES believes that life is a wave, a fluid energy that washes over us all, binding and defining. The universe is a four lane sidewalk of constant flux, upon the surface of which we must all skate. Searching for answers, he visited a monastery in the Midwest. There was an admiration and peace in the way he described the labor, commitment, belief, kindness, and serenity that united this group. With an eye to the interstellar and the unimagined, the artist is a dogged painter of the everyday. Triangles, and mind-melting rays of color anthropomorphize the thoughts, people, places, and struggles of daily life. It is from the fabric of personal experience that the artist weaves his singsong narratives.

Global alice quaresma

ALICE QUARESMA has been experimenting with materials that allow her photographs to be sensorial and playful, pushing the boundaries of photography as a flat surface. She uses images from her personal photo archive to elaborate on the idea of displacement and identity. As painted lines over the images break the perfection of the camera and bring the beauty of the hand gesture to the foreground, the work questions photography’s rigid assertion of objectivity. The artist uses her fascination for the ocean as a place of discovery. Alice explores the ludic world of photography experimenting with the condition of a work in progress, thereby bringing less rational qualities to her photographs.

Global justin w cox

JUSTIN W. COX works in acrylics and oils, smearing and scraping. His love for the organic process of vibrant colors mixing and colliding with force and speed grew from a passion for unpredictable outcomes. His work is exciting, bold and positive. His love for the water started at an early age taking on surfing, paddle boarding, and lifeguarding, while at night playing in a punk-ska band. Justin is fueled by the ocean, music, art, and fashion. This creative passion ultimately led to a career designing showrooms, retail stores and global events for fashion brands, and influenced his sensibility of composition, color and scale.

GAP GQ new stars

Gap and GQ teamed up to launch a menswear capsule in collaboration with Ami, United Arrows and Sons, and Kinfolk, dubbed the “Coolest Designers on the Planet.” The program took things international for the first time, recognizing brands from Paris, Tokyo, and Brooklyn.

GAP GQ all stars

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Gap + GQ initiative, we brought back four all-star designers – John Elliott, Michael Bastian, Steven Alan, and Saturdays NYC – to collaborate with Gap on a collection of Fall must-haves.

GAP GQ hoodie

Gap invited eight global brands including Balmain, Dsquared2, MSGM, No Vacancy Inn, Officine Générale, Opening Ceremony, Stampd, and Surf is Dead to design their take on the classic Gap sweatshirt. The result is a mix of crewneck and hoodies blending each designer’s individual logo with the Gap logo while channeling a different style and aesthetic from oversized to boxy to neon. Each brand selected a non-profit organization to receive a portion of the proceeds.

Telfar

Paris was essential to the beginning of the partnership between Telfar and Gap. This collaboration was born out of an overlap of brand values and a shared love of covetable essentials.

“What happens this week in Paris, with the buzz and the mix of people from a global, cultural, and fashion perspective makes it feel like the right place and the right time to launch this collaboration. As a global brand with global reach – of course with iconic American roots – but really having that global reach, it just felt right to do something bold like this, something a little unexpected.”

United by a mutual commitment to sustainability and upcycling, Gap x Atelier & Repairs was built on the foundation of Gap’s intrinsic philosophy to continually merge creativity and sustainability and reimagine what already exists, transforming iconic styles into unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.

“We are committed to reducing the environmental impacts of product manufacturing, and today’s announcement marks the latest step in our journey to integrate more product innovation across our portfolio.”
